Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh! tells the tale of Yugi Mutou, a shorter-than-average high school student who was given the fragmented pieces of an ancient Egyptian artifact, the Millennium Puzzle, by his grandfather. Upon reassembling the Puzzle, he is possessed by another personality who is later revealed to be the spirit of a 3,000-year-old Pharaoh (5,000-years-old in the English anime) called Atem, with no memory of his own time. As the story goes on, the two of them (together with Yugi's friends), try to find the secret of the Pharaoh's lost memories and his name, with the Duel Monsters card game being an ever prevalent backdrop or plot device.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny (機動戦士ガンダムSEED DESTINY, Kidō Senshi Gandamu Shīdo Desutinī). Gundam SEED Destiny sets the story two years after the original series and follows pilot Shinn Asuka and the rest of the crew of the ZAFT battleship Minerva's involvement in the Second Bloody Valentine War, as well as some returning characters from the previous series. Three mobile suits are stolen from ZAFT by a group called Phantom Pain, which is controlled by the Blue Cosmos terrorist organization. Shinn Asuka and the Minerva try to intervene but the group manages to escape. Shinn and the Minerva are then ordered to destroy the ruins of a space colony to prevent it from crashing into Earth. Returning character Athrun Zala decides to aid the crew of the Minerva to stop this. They find out rogue ZAFT soldiers are controlling the colony in order to cause it to crash into Earth.[ After failing to completely destroy the colony, a second war starts once news has spread that ZAFT soldiers cause the colony to collide on Earth.
Athrun Zala rejoins ZAFT and is assigned to the crew of the Minerva. Later in the war, Athrun becomes disaffected after PLANT Chairman Gilbert Durandal orders the destruction of his friend Kira Yamato and the Archangel and defects with Meyrin Hawke when Durandal frames him as a traitor. The leader of Blue Cosmos, Lord Djibril, orders the weapon Requiem to be fired which destroys many space colonies resulting in many deaths. The crew of the Minerva successfully kill Lord Djibril and capture the Requiem. Gilbert Durandal then announces the "Destiny Plan", a plan where a person's job or task will be based on their genetics and starts to use the Requiem to destroy anyone who opposes him. This brings Shinn and the crew of the Minerva into direct conflict with the protagonists of the first series. Kira and Athrun with their new mobile suits ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom and ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice respectively and their allies, defeat the ZAFT forces and destroy the Requiem. Chairman Durandal is killed by one of his own followers. Soon after, the Earth Alliance, ZAFT and the Orb union meet and decide to end the war, with Lacus Clyne acting as negotiator.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle (ツバサ-RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-, Tsubasa -Rezaboa Kuronikuru-). Events Before the Series
Before the beginning of the storyline, Tsubasa (known as Syaoran throughout the story, real name discovered later at the end of series), the son of Syaoran and Sakura, is sent into the shop of the Dimensional Witch, Yūko, by his parents because of a vision his mother had seen. Yūko sends him to Clow Country (The Country of the Eternal Tower) for seven days, where he arrives seven days before the birthday of that dimension's Tsubasa (known as Sakura throughout the story, real name discovered later at the end of series), who looks like a younger version of his mother. Over the seven days, the two begin to form a bond. On his final day in Clow Country, the day of Tsubasa's birthday, Fei Wang Reed appears and, in spite of his efforts to stop him, places a seal of death on her that will eventually kill her. He tells Yūko that he chooses to remain in Clow Country at the price of never seeing his family and friends back in Japan again. He returns to Clow Country, and spends years searching for a way to remove the seal, but his searches are to no avail. When the seal is about to consume Tsubasa on the day of her Coming of Age Ceremony, he asks Yūko to turn time back to the day Fei Wang Reed placed the seal of death on Tsubasa in exchange for being Fei Wang Reed's prisoner.
Events During the Series
The series starts several years after Tsubasa wound back time, and it follows the clones of both Tsubasa, creations of Fei Wong Reed. Syaoran is a young archaeologist investigating a nearby ruin. Sakura has a vision of a mysterious symbol Syaoran found in the ruins. When she visits Syaoran in the ruins the next day, she stands on the symbol opening a secret room and disappears into it. Syaoran chases after and finds her with a pair of ghostly wings being pulled into the wall. He rescues her, but then her wings disintegrate into feathers that scatter across dimensions. The High Priest of Clow Kingdom, Yukito, immediately realizes that Sakura's "feathers" were the manifestation of her soul; without them, she will die.
Yukito sends the two to the Dimensional Witch, Yūko. There Syaoran meets Kurogane a rough-mannered ninja who wishes to return to his home after being banished from his world by Princess Tomoyo in order to learn what true strength is, and Fay D. Flourite, a magician who fled his world and wishes never to return to avoid being forced to kill the King Ashura of his home world. In order to gain the power to cross dimensions, each must pay with what he or she values most. Kurogane pays with his family's heirloom, the sword Ginryū. Fay pays with the tattoo on his back that suppresses his magical power. Syaoran and Sakura pay with their relationship; even if Syaoran is able to retrieve all of Sakura's memories, she will never remember him. When the three agree to her terms, Yūko present them with the one of two creatures named Mokona Modoki who holds the power to cross dimensions. The group of five then set out on their journey across dimensions in search of Sakura's feathers.

YuYu Hakusho

YuYu Hakusho (幽☆遊☆白書, Yū Yū Hakusho?, or "YYH", lit. "Ghost Files" or "Poltergeist Report"). Yusuke Urameshi is a street-brawling delinquent attending the fictional Sarayashiki Junior High. His mother Atsuko, an alcoholic, had him at the age of 14 and raised Yusuke as a single mother. He is constantly in trouble in school, when he goes at all, and is targeted by many of the other local delinquents. His only apparent friend is Keiko, a girl who he has known for many years and his eventual love interest.
In an uncharacteristic act of altruism Yusuke is hit by a car and killed, saving a young boy by pushing him out of the way. His ghost is greeted by Botan, a blue haired woman who introduces herself as the pilot of the River Styx, who ferries souls to the underworld where they may be judged for the afterlife. Botan informs Yusuke that his act had caught even the Underworld by surprise and that there was no place made yet for him in either heaven or hell. Thus Koenma, son of the Underworld's ruler, offered Yusuke a chance to return to his body. After returning to life, Koenma hires Yusuke as the Underworld Detective, charging him with investigating supernatural activity within the Human World. Soon Yusuke is off on his first case, retrieving three treasures stolen from the Underworld by three demons: Hiei, Kurama and Goki. Yusuke collects the three treasures with the help of his new technique, the Rei Gun, a shot of aura energy fired mentally from his index finger. He then travels to the mountains in search of the reiki master Genkai. Together with his rival Kuwabara Yusuke fights through a tournament to become the heir to Genkai's techniques, as well as trying to find Rando, a demon who steals the techniques of martial arts masters and kills them. Yusuke defeats Rando in the final round of the tournament and trains with Genkai for several months, gaining more mastery over his aura. He is then sent to Demon city in the underworld where Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei aid him in defeating the Four Beasts, a quartet of demons attempting to blackmail Koenma into removing the barrier keeping them out of the Human world.
Yusuke's next case sent him on a rescue mission to save Yukina, an Ice Maiden. During the rescue he meets Toguro a human turned into the strongest of demons. Toguro invites Yusuke to the Dark Tournament, an event put on by corrupt rich humans in which teams of demons, and occassionally humans, fight fierce battles for the chance to receive any wish they choose. Team Urameshi, consisting of Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei and Genkai (initially disguised as the Masked Fighter), fights through the early rounds to face Team Toguro and come out on top, finding that Team Toguro's owner, Sakyo, was attempting to win prize money in order to create a large hole to the Demon Plane, but with his loss, destroys the tournament arena, killing himself in the process. Yusuke returns home, but has little time to rest as he is challenged to a fight by three teenagers who end up taking him hostage with new superhuman powers. Kuwabara and the others rescue him as they learn that the whole scenario was a test by Genkai. It is revealed that Shinobu Sensui, Yusuke's predecessor as Underworld Detective, has recruited six other powerful beings to help him take over where Sakyo left off, boring a hole to the Demon Plane. Yusuke and his friends fight Sensui's minions one by one making their way to the final fight between the two detectives. Sensui kills Yusuke then retreats into the newly opened portal to Demon World, followed by Kurama, Hiei and Kuwabara. Yusuke is reborn as a partial demon, finding out that his ancestor passed down a recessive gene that would hide until an heir with sufficient power surfaced, when his demonic lineage would be revealed. Yusuke travels to the Demon plane and defeats Sensui, aided by the spirit of his ancestor who takes control of his body to finish the fight.
As they return to Human World, Yusuke is stripped of his detective title as King Enma orders he be captured and executed, afraid his demon blood could cause him to go on a rampage in the human world. Yusuke, unhappy with having been controlled by his ancestor, Raizen, accepts an offer by Raizen's followers to go back to Demon World. It is revealed that Raizen is on the brink of death, a death that would topple the delicate balance of the three ruling powers of the Makai Realm. Hiei and Kurama are summoned by the other two rulers, Mukuro and Yomi, respectively. The three train in the Makai Realm for a year, at which time Raizen dies and Yusuke inherits his territory. Yusuke takes the initiative and proposes a tournament to name the true ruler of the Makai, which is eventually agreed upon by all. The tournament progresses, as Yusuke and Yomi meet in the 2nd elimination round where Yusuke is defeated and knocked unconscious. Yusuke awakes days later to find that the tournament was won by Raizen's old friend Enki. Yusuke stays in the Demon Plane for a while longer, but eventually returns to the Human world to be with Keiko.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers

Bakugan Battle Brawlers (爆丸バトルブローラーズ, Bakugan Batoru Burōrāzu), In a dimension of Vestroia, a Bakugan called Naga decides to absorb the energy of the two cores that keep the dimensions in place. He absorbed too much of a negative energy found in the Silent Core. The Infinity Core, the positive energy core, has been absorbed with Naga's sister, Wavern.
The story centers on group of friends who find metallic cards which have fallen from the sky. They name themselves the Bakugan Battle Brawlers and consist of seven children: Dan, Shun, Runo, Marucho, Julie, Alice, and later Joe. Together they learn more about the origin of Bakugan, the game involving them, and battle against Hal-G and Naga.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスターズGX, Yūgiō Dyueru Monsutāzu Jī Ekkusu),
In the fictional universe of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Duel Monsters, a popular card game created by Maximillion Pegasus (Pegasus J. Crawford) is widely enjoyed. Referred to as a "duelist," a player of the game summons monsters and activates Spell and Trap Cards through Duel Disk technology to evoke various strategies to defeat his/her opponent in battle. A Duel typically begins with each contestant being given a life total of 4,000 Life Points, which can be decreased as opposing players "attack" him/her with their monsters or trigger the abilities of individual cards. The objective is to reduce an opponent's Life Points to zero, and therefore be declared the winner. Although conceived solely as a card game, Duel Monsters' roots are mythological in nature, and many exploit its otherworldly secrets for their own personal gain.
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX begins 10 years after the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! with the lead character Jaden Yuki obtaining a Winged Kuriboh card from Yugi Muto, the renowned Duel Monsters champion, while on his way to a Duel Academy (Duel Academia (デュエル・アカデミア, Dyueru Akademia?) in the original Japanese language version) entrance exam.
The Academy was founded by Seto Kaiba on a remote island in the Southern Seas, with its dormitories named after the three Egyptian God Cards, and is run by Chancellor Sheppard and his staff. The most elaborate dormitory, Obelisk Blue (オベリスク・ブルー, Oberisuku Burū?), is named after Obelisk the Tormentor. The Obelisk Blue dormitory can be graduated to, but the only way to enter the dormitory in the first year is to attend and do well at an affiliated junior school (English version only). As the highest ranked dormitory, Obelisk Blue's facilities are of the highest quality, on the level of the world's classiest hotels and restaurants. The center dorm, Ra Yellow (ラー・イェロー, Rā Ierō), is named after The Winged Dragon of Ra. Those who were given the highest scores in the entrance exam, or who only did mediocrely in the junior school enter this dormitory, which, while not as extravagant as Obelisk Blue, still has incredibly clean and well-kept facilities and meals of a quality far above the lifestyle of the average salaried man. The lowest dormitory, Slifer Red (Osiris Red (オシリス・レッド, Oshirisu Reddo) in the original Japanese language version), is named after Slifer the Sky Dragon. Those who failed completely or scored poorly are put into the shoddy quarters of Slifer Red.
There are four other branches of Duel Academy worldwide, in the North, East, South, and West. Only the North Academy was shown.
For the first two years at Duel Academy, the main cast faces major threats including the Shadow Riders, who intend to revive the Sacred Beasts by creating a strong dueling presence on the island and obtaining the Seven Spirit Keys (held by Jaden Yuki, Zane Truesdale, Alexis Rhodes, Bastion Misawa, Chazz Princeton, Dr Vellian Crowler and Lyman Banner) , as well as the Society of Light, which intends to enslave humanity with the mind control satellite of Misgarth. During the third year, Duel Academy is transported to another world–a desert plane with three suns and resident Duel Monster spirits–right into the hands of the Martin Empire. Upon returning home, Jaden and a select group of his partners dive into the rift left in their escape to recover their missing companion, and embark through second and third worlds where failure in duels sends losers to the stars ("killed" in the Japanese version, though they were actually sent to another dimension); in very dark times, they find themselves face to face with the vindictive Yubel. When Jaden realizes the connection between Yubel and his past self, he fuses her soul with his, giving him certain powers.
In their final adventure, Jaden and his friends deal with the mysterious Trueman, a dark agent who copies the identity of his defeated opponents and seemingly wipes out their existence then. When a solar eclipse draws near, Trueman is revealed to be working for the real mastermind behind the vicious plot around the entire season - the former Shadow Rider, Nightshroud. Using Yusuke Fujiwara as an avatar, Nightshroud explains that Trueman's adversaries were trapped in the hell-like World of Darkness, where they will ultimately give up on their own lives because while in the dark world they would be mentally tortured by visions of failing at their hopes and dreams. Jaden and Jesse form a tag team to defeat Fujiwara and later Nightshroud himself in order to save the rest of the humanity from his World. This concludes the Duel Academy senior's reign as students, and before the seniors graduate and go on their own separate paths, a farewell party is thrown. However, Jaden is not present because he dislikes sad events, and attempts to leave before anyone can notice he's gone. Before he leaves, Winged Kuriboh leads him to the room that holds Yugi Moto's legendary dueling deck, and he is encountered by none other than Yugi himself. They both are transported to the past, where Jaden duels a younger Yugi and in the process recovers what he had lost, his passion for dueling. The outcome of this duel is not known, but it's assumed Yugi is the winner given Jaden's promise to become stronger and duel Yugi again. As Jaden leaves, he discovers a note from his friends, who knew that he would probably attempt to leave early. The show concludes with Jaden, with Banner's spirit and Pharaoh running into the distance, awaiting their next adventure.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (機動戦士ガンダム00 (ダブルオー), Kidō Senshi Gandamu Daburu Ō)
First season
The main tagline for the first season is Rebirth Begins Through Destruction.
The series is set in 2307 AD. As a result of the depletion of fossil fuels, humanity had to search for a new source of power. The power was found in the form of massive arrays of solar power collectors orbiting the Earth, and supported by three orbital elevators, each one serving one of the three "power blocs" on the planet, namely Union, controlling the region surrounding North America, Human Reform League (Japanese: 人類革新連盟; Romaji: jinrui kakushin renmei; Pinyin: rénlèi géxīn liánméng), consisting of China, Russia and India, and AEU, which controls mainland Europe.
With this nearly inexhaustible source of energy benefiting only the major powers and their allies, constant warfare erupts around the globe among minor countries for fuels and energy. Countries that once economically relied on the sale of fossil fuels have plunged into poverty. Some even believe that solar energy threatened the "promised land of God", resulting in the 20-year Solar Wars. This chaos led to the formation of a private military organization, called Celestial Being (ソレスタルビーイング, Soresutaru Bīingu), dedicated to eradicating war and uniting humanity through the use of four humanoid machines called Gundams. Mobile Suit Gundam 00 follows four mobile suit pilots termed Gundam Meisters ( ガンダムマイスター, Gandamu Maisutā?), sided with Celestial Being. The main protagonist is 16-year old Setsuna F Seiei (刹那・F・セイエイ?), a quiet, taciturn young man who grew up in the war-torn Krugis Republic. He pilots the GN-001 Gundam Exia, a high mobility mobile suit effective in melee combat.
Unable to counter Celestial Being's superior technology, the three major powers eventually unite into the United Nations Army (国連軍) in order to counter Celestial Being's armed interventions. In order to fight the Gundams, the United Nations Army employed the help of Laguna Harvey. Harvey, a Celestial Being intelligence agent turned traitor, provides them with 30 GN-X, mobile suits equipped with pseudo-GN Drives. As the United Nations resist Celestial Being's interventions, a second team of Gundams, known as Team Trinity, appears and assists in the Meisters' eradication of war, albeit in a much more cruel and cold-blooded fashion, in contrast with the original Meisters' less-aggressive nature of armed intervention.
Alejandro Corner, a former Celestial Being observer who plans to make use of the chaos and destruction created by Celestial Being to rule a reconstructed world, subsequently takes over Veda, Celestial Being's supercomputer which is located on the moon. Without the tactical aid from the organization's artificial intelligence, Celestial Being is easily overwhelmed and overpowered by GN-X units and their superior numbers.
The United Nations Army initiates Operation Fallen Angels to destroy the Gundams, having discovered the location of the Meisters' mothership, Ptolemaios. During the operation, Ali Al-Saachez kills Lockon Stratos after a climactic battle. Alejandro Corner, in his unique custom mobile armor Alvatore, attacks Gundam Exia as the GN-X units proceed to destroy the Ptolemaios and the remaining Gundams. Exia struggles with the monstrous Alvatore, but in the end succeeds in killing Alejandro. Graham Aker, an ace pilot of the United Nations Army, then challenges Setsuna to a fight, seeking revenge for his fallen comrades and questioning the purpose of Gundams' existence. The fight results in the destruction of the GN-Flag, while the Exia is heavily damaged.
Second season
Four years have passed since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an autonomous peace-keeping force, A-Laws, separate from and above the formal Federation army. Given unfettered discretion, A-Laws is charged with the duty to further unify nations, enforce the will of mankind, and dispose of terrorist cells. Unknown to the general public, however, is that the A-Laws misuse their power and employ inhumane tactics to oppress freedoms, doctrines, and ideologies, all in the name of 'unity'.
Saji Crossroad has followed the path to becoming a space engineer, to keep his promise to Louise Halevy. But he ends up being mistaken for a member of the dissident organization Kataron and is unjustly imprisoned. Louise herself is compelled to become involved in Federation government reform and joined A-Laws as a mobile suit pilot during the four-year gap, using her family inheritance to fund A-Laws research.
Meanwhile, Setsuna, having survived the battle with Graham Aker four years ago and is in hiding, has witnessed a change in the world due to the actions of Celestial Being. Setsuna tries to confront the A-Laws by himself with his battered Gundam Exia, but is easily overpowered by their newer models. He is soon rescued by Tieria Erde, piloting his new mobile suit, the Seravee Gundam.
By combining the GN Drives of Exia and 0 Gundam, Celestial Being's engineers manage to complete Aeolia's plans for an advanced mobile suit with twin GN drives - the 00 Gundam - which is entrusted to Setsuna. To pilot the two remaining new units, Lockon Stratos' twin brother is invited to assume his brother's codename and former position as the pilot of the Cherudim Gundam, and after Allelujah Haptism is rescued from the prison he was being detained in during the timeskip, he assumes the command of Arios Gundam.
Unknown to Celestial Being and the A-Laws, a third party is manipulating both sides of the conflict. This group call themselves "Innovators", composed of Alejandro Corner's former assistant Ribbons Almark, and his six subordinates. Subsequently, it is revealed that Aeolia Schenberg's plan is to ensure humanity's survival; unite the world's factions through Celestial Being's armed interventions and then advance humanity into deep space and undergo Innovation, a trans-human process.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (機動戦士ガンダムSEED [シード], Kidō Senshi Gandamu Shīdo),Mankind is divided, partially over the issue of genetic engineering administered to human test subjects. Normal humans known are now known as "Naturals" and the genetically altered humans are known as "Coordinators". The series is the first of the Gundam franchise set in the Cosmic Era. This series begins with the Bloody Valentine War between the Naturals, who reside on Earth, and the Coordinators who reside in the space colonies. The Naturals’ army is called the Earth Alliance, while the military force of the Coordinators is called ZAFT.
The story begins when the neutral space colony, Heliopolis, is invaded by ZAFT because the colony had been secretly developing Mobile Suits for the war. During the invasion Kira Yamato sees his friends in danger and pilots the Mobile Suit GAT-X105 Strike in order wards off the invaders. As Heliopolis begins to fall apart, local survivors board the Archangel and they begin their journey to the Earth Alliance's base in Alaska. Kira continues to pilot the Strike to ward off attacks by ZAFT but is seemingly killed by his childhood friend Athrun Zala during their battle. The Archangel then arrives in Alaska, and ZAFT launches a full scale attack on the Alaskan base, overpowering the Earth alliance. Kira arrives in Alaska with the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, given to him by Lacus Clyne, and ends the battle between the two armies. Hoping to end the war between the Naturals and Coordinators, Kira and the Archangel join the Orb Union. Athrun decides to search for Kira to find his reason for fighting in the war. After listening to Lacus and Kira, he joins them in their cause to end the war. In the Second Battle of Jachin Due they stop the Earth Alliance's Nuclear Weapons and ZAFT's GENESIS (super weapons built on genocide) to prevent both sides from destroying each other, and a peace contract is eventually signed.

Hunter X Hunter

Hunter X Hunter, Twelve years prior to the start of the story, the famous Hunter Ging Freecss left his infant son, Gon Freecss, with his cousin Mito on Whale Island. Gon, raised believing his parents were dead, finds out from Ging's apprentice, Kite, that his father is still alive. As such, Gon leaves his home to follow in his father's footsteps as a Hunter by taking the Hunter Exam. Prior to the Hunter Exam, Gon meets and befriends three of the other applicants, Kurapika, Killua Zoldyck, and Leorio. After the exam, Kurapika departs to find work and Leorio leaves to attend medical school. Gon and Killua decide to gain combat experience by training at the Heavens Arena, a 251-story building where over 4,000 fighters compete daily in fighting tournaments. There, they meet the kung-fu master, Wing, who teaches them about Nen--a chi-like life energy that can be used to manifest superhuman powers.
The third story arc reunites the main characters for the world's largest auction in a sprawling metropolis called Yorknew City. Gon, Killua, and Leorio try different methods to make enough money to buy Greed Island, a video game that could help Gon find his father. This story arc introduces the Phantom Troupe, a group of thieves who, among many other crimes, slaughtered all the other members of Kurapika's clan. Kurapika crosses paths with them while working as a bodyguard. Finally Gon and Killua's find the Greed Island, the seemingly-magical video game that sucks players within. The goal of the game is to collect a number of set cards, although almost everything in the game, from food to money, can be turned into cards. Inside Greed Island Gon and Killua are joined by Biscuit Krueger, a master and experienced teacher of Nen who trains them. As part of their reward, they are allowed to take three cards to be used in the real world. Using the card 'Accompany', Gon and Killua travel to a player under the username 'Nigg', who they believe to be Ging. However, it ends up bringing them to Kite instead.
Alongside Kite, Gon and Killua briefly work as biological researchers in the country of Kakin. As they investigate a giant insect limb found on the country's shores, the group discover it came from a man-sized chimera ant queen — an insect that devours other insects and animals, and then gives birth to progeny that inherit the characteristics of the different species it has eaten. The queen chimera ant washes up onto island nation called the Neo-Green Life (N.G.L.) Autonomous Region, inhabited by a neo-luddite culture. She quickly develops a taste for humans and builds a colony in order to conceive both an army of offspring and a chimera ant king. The chimera ants proceed to wipe most of the population out before Gon, Killua, and Kite arrive. The queen dies during labor, and the chimera ant king and his Royal Guards flee the N.G.L., secretly overthrowing the government of the nearby Republic of East Gorteau soon thereafter. Under the guise of the former king of the Republic, the chimera ant king initiates the process of forcibly awakening Nen in the civilians of East Gorteau in order to form his own personal army to conquer the world — resulting in the deaths of millions unable to awaken Nen. As ants formerly under the queen's rule rejoin the king, the Hunter Association mobilizes quickly to stop the oncoming genocide by sending in an extermination team of Hunters to East Gorteau. Distraught over the murder of Kite at the hands of the Royal Guards, Gon and Killua join the extermination team in order to take revenge for their friend.

Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼の錬金術師, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi?, lit. "Alchemist of Steel"), is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa. The world of Fullmetal Alchemist is styled after the European Industrial Revolution. Set in a fictional universe in which alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques known to man, the story follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who want to restore their bodies after a disastrous failed attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy.
The manga is serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine (starting August 2001) and currently has 23 tankōbon volumes. It was adapted into an animated television series of 51 episodes by Bones from October 4, 2003 to October 2, 2004, later followed by a film sequel that concluded the story of the anime. Fullmetal Alchemist would later spawn a second series called Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which first premiered in Japan on April 5, 2009. A multitude of spin-off novels, original video animations (OVAs), drama CDs, soundtracks, and video games have been adapted from the series. A collectible card game, multiple supplementary books, and a variety of action figures and other merchandise based on the characters of the series have also been released.
The manga has been licensed by Viz Media for publication in the United States, with twenty bound volumes released currently. Although there are no major differences with the Japanese version, some pages have been edited to avoid minor references to western theology. Funimation Entertainment has dubbed the anime episodes in the United States and Canada, and has also released them in all English-speaking DVD regions. The English version of the film premiered in a limited number of U.S. theaters on August 25, 2006 and was later released on DVD. Funimation and Destineer have also been releasing the video games from the series.
In Japan, the Fullmetal Alchemist manga has had good sales with over 30 million volumes sold as of 2008. The English release of the manga's first volume was the top-selling graphic novel during the year 2005. In two TV Asahi web polls, the anime was voted #1 most popular anime of all time in Japan. It was nominated in six of the eight categories for which it was eligible at the American Anime Awards in February 2007, winning awards in five of them. Reviewers from several media generally had positive comments on the series.

Digimon Saver

Digimon Data Squad, known in Japan as Digimon Savers (デジモンセイバーズ, Dejimon Seibāzu?), is a Japanese anime television series, and the fifth series produced as part of the Digimon franchise. It was produced by Toei Animation, and aired every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. on the Fuji TV network. In addition, a tie-in movie called Ultimate Power! Burst Mode Invoke! was released on December 9, 2006. [1] Savers is the first Digimon program to be produced in almost four years, following 2002's Digimon Frontier
Unlike previous Digimon series, which were broadcast in English in Autumn of the same year as their Japanese release, there were a full eighteen months between the Japanese and English broadcasts, leading at first to some doubt as to whether the series would be dubbed at all. Not long after the discovery of an entry for the show on Toei's website, which featured anglicized names for some of the characters and the show's new English title, on April 25, 2007, Disney' ABC Network announced that it had signed an agreement [2] with Toei Animation to license the show. On May 4, director of previous Digimon series Jeff Nimoy confirmed that he had returned to direct the series, confirmed its English title, and revealed the majority of voice actors for the main cast of the series. Data Squad premiered on Jetix on October 1, 2007 at 8:30 PM.[1] Data Squad finally premiered in Canada the morning of Sunday September 7, 2008 after a long wait, the show is on Family Channel (Canada's Disney Affiliate). This is the first Digimon show to appear on that network as all other series in Canada could be seen on YTV. New Episodes air Sunday mornings while the prior weeks episode can be seen on Saturday mornings. The Japanese version is aimed at late teens ages: 16-21, while the English dub in the US is aimed at a younger audience for young kids ages 6–10 to make it more view-friendly.
The Digivice used in this series is the "Digivice iC", and its upgraded version, the "Digivice Burst". The series is the first to feature the lead character not sporting a pair of goggles and have all main characters' Digimon digivolve to the same level. This series is also the second one where the last battle is fought in the Real World against a non-Digimon entity, the other one being Digimon Tamers. Unlike the previous seasons, Digimon Data Squad took on more radical changes for the character designs ditching the style animation always used previously in favor of more traditional Japanese animation. Also, according to this series' composer, Ryota Yamaguchi, this series was to take in a wider age group, and was aimed to also appeal to late teens, however, without ending it as a hobby anime. This is why the characters are much older (ranging from early teen to adult) and the story somewhat darker and mature in tone than in previous series. This is unlike in most past Digimon anime that are aimed at young children aged 6–10 and have younger and lighter stories. The English dub done by Studiopolis is edited to be younger, lighter, and more kid-friendly to children aged 6 to 10 years. Also, as requested by Digimon's sponsor, Bandai, in order to grab the older Digimon fans, Bandai wanted the reappearance of a Digimon from the old series, which was chosen to be the original main Digimon, Agumon.
